Our darling little daughter, was born on October 5, 2007.
She weighed in at a whopping 9lbs 2oz!
She loved her binky since day 1! :) |
I had a pretty easy pregnancy.
Other than morning sickness until about 8 months,
I had no complications at all.
She was only 3 days passed her due date.
I woke up at about 3 am with contractions about 7 minutes apart. I woke up my sleepy fiance (now husband) to tell him today was the day! His tired response was, just go back to sleep for a bit. Always a typical man that one. I tried falling back to sleep but could only rest for a few minutes, until the contraction hit again.
I waited until 6 am to contact my obgyn. He advised whenever I was ready, I could head to the hospital. I tried to wait it out as much as possible at home. So about 10:30 am we made it to the hospital. They took me back to triage, where they advised I was already 5 centimeters dialated, but that I could still be hours away.
Finally, at about 8 1/2 centimeters I got the epidural. What a wonderful thing that was. Pain was completely gone. My husband kept checking the monitor, trying to prepare me for a huge burst of pain. But after the epidural, I was able to lay in peace, just preparing myself for the delivery ahead.
Finally it was time to push! It started going so fast. I could feel her and I thought "Jeez, in just a minute she should be out." Yeah, that didn't happen. She ended up getting stuck at my pelvic bone. After about 3 hours of pushing, and in complete agony and completely wore out, I was told I would need a c-section.
They always tell you to prepare yourself for a c-section, just in case. I, however, never thought I would need one. So when they told me, I cried and told them no. I said I was going to push until she came out. They told me it just wasn't going to happen. Even if somehow she managed to come out, I would be torn very badly.
I ended up getting the c-section and K was born into this world around 10:30 pm.
Her shirt says, "I don't have to be good. I'm cute!" So true! :) |
