Friday's Fancies ♥ Color BLOCK!

When I saw earlier this week that long distance loving was hosting a Color Block Friday's Fancies, I was a little nervous.

I thought I had to find something that was actually blocks of color on a shirt or a dress, but after researching some, I found out there really aren't any rules on color blocking.

Since I'm in a beachy mood (just 2 more days!!)

I picked an outfit I felt I could rock at the beach.

It would be perfect for a dinner date with the hubby out on the water..

Followed by a romantic walk on the beach...

SUMMER!!

Happy official first day of summer!

I love it!!

And in just 4 more days I will be relaxing at the beach

with my 2 favorite people.

Life is good!

Monday.. Monday..

Although it is Monday, I did have a wonderful weekend!

I had to work on Saturday, but after that K & I went out to do a little

last minute Father's Day gift shopping!

We went out looking for a Phillies tie, but surprisingly could not find one!

Not even at the darn mall!

 

As we were turning into the grocery store, I spotted Gamestop.

We headed in there and got my husband the new Batman game.

Looked pretty cool! He loved it by the way!

Afterwards, we kind of just relaxed for the rest of the night.

Sunday.. Father's Day!..

K & I woke up early to get my husband's favorite brownies made,

and to get breakfast started. But brownies are more important!

We had a pretty relaxing Father's Day.

Played some basketball at the neighborhood park,

went to the driving range to hit a few balls,

Played some board games,

And ran around the house with foam dart guns!

Yummy fudgey brownies!

Bacon!

 

That's about it.

Update on my little one - We currently bought her a spray bottle so if she comes acrossed any spiders, rats, or snakes she can spray them away! This has worked wonderfully for daytime. She was able to sit upstairs at the dining room table while I ran downstairs to do laundry. Major score! :)

However, it has not helped with bedtime. She still won't go to sleep by herself. I end up sitting, and sometimes falling asleep (until my husband comes and wakes me), on her floor. I keep myself entertained by browsing facebook or pinterest on my phone or my kindle fire. It's not too bad.

I'll take this progress. So much better than how it was previously, when I couldn't even get a moment of peace.

In other news... In just 10 days, I will have my feet in the sand for a whole 7 days & 6 nights! My husband's family share a beach house in Ocean City, MD.

It was originally my husband's paternal grandmother's home, until she passed away a few years ago. I am so thankful to have gotten to know her. I just wished we could have told her about K before she passed. We were young, not married, and terrified. We did not tell anybody until I was about 4.5 months pregnant, when I first started to show. She died about a month into our pregnancy. It would have been her first great-grandchild. While, she was bedridden (she died from pancreatic cancer), she gave Dave her engagement ring. I get to wear this beautiful ring every day of my life. My husband says I could change the band if I wanted, but I love how simple it is, and it is a constant reminder of a beautiful woman who was taken away from this world way too soon.

Just felt I would share that. Not quite sure why, but it just felt necessary.

So hurry up vacation! I can't wait to see you!

bedtime blues

I've been wanting to write this post for a few days now,

but I have been totally and completely exhausted!

My wonderful little angel (and I really mean that)

has been a complete freakazoid when it comes to bedtime.

It seriously takes about 2 1/2 hours to get her to bed.

Once I found out what was causing this madness,

I've resorted to just sitting on her floor until she falls asleep.

Then, I sneak out of the bedroom as quietly as possible.

She has recently gotten so scared to be alone.

And I have no clue why this is happening.

I can't even walk into another room, even if she can still see me.

She won't even use the bathroom by herself anymore.

Or let alone, let me use it by myself!

I feel so bad that I don't know how to make this better.

She tells me she is scared that snakes, rats, mice, etc.

are going to come into her room.

She also keeps saying she hears noises and that is why she's scared.

She has never done this before.

I hope it is just a faze and will be gone soon.

Anybody have any advice on this?

I just love navy and yellow paired together.

It is probably one of my favorite color combos.

I always see everyone talking about the JCrew bubble necklace,

so I just had to include it. I think it pairs nicely with the outfit.

And you can never go wrong with pairing neons & nudes.

So I chose these cute nude sandals and nude hobo bag.
