Past weekend...
Last weekend we had my neice over for a few days/nights. Her mother took a trip with her boyfriend to Florida for a few days. It was definitely an exciting time. The girls mostly get along, but there are a few times that they need to be separated. They are only 3 months apart of eachother, which is pretty cool. We took a trip to Linvilla Orchards for their blackberry festival. The girls had a great time hula hooping, watching the magician, playing on the playground, getting stuck playing in the maze, and petting the animals. They even got to learn about bees all up close and personal. We also ventured into the country store and picked up some fresh fruit!

If you really knew me...
So, I've seen this on a few blogs and figured what the hell I'll give it a shot!
You'd know that I am a people pleaser. I hate disappointing people.
You'd know that I can be extremely shy, until you get to know me, then good luck shutting me up! :)
You'd know my family and friends are my life, don't know what I'd do without that bunch.
You'd know I hate my nose. And have wanted plastic surgery, but would never do it.
You'd know that I love my legs! And my hubby does too!
You'd know that sometimes I feel like I am never a good enough mother. No matter how hard I try, I always feel like I could do more, or be better.
You'd know that I love the Philadelphia Phillies. My 4 year old can even name every player on there starting line up.
You'd know that I just love Philadelphia. And am so glad we live only 30 minutes south of there.
You'd know I tend to be a perfectionist. And I absolutely hate it.
You'd know I love this blog, and I hope you do too! :)

Friday's Fancies ♥ Euro Trip!
I chose a look that I thought was relaxed and comfortable, but still very downtown-chic. I highly recommend jeggings (please try them if you haven't already done so - you might just get addicted!). Accessorize them with a light, fun print printed scary, a straw fedora, and some easy sandals. I chose these gladiators because they have a zipper in the back, so taking your shoes off at airport security won't be a hassle! I chose this leather bag because it looks chic, and is just the right size to bring with you on the plane.
How would you dress for your euro trip? Link up now with {av} @ long distance loving and tell us how! (:

been neglectful recently
I've really been neglecting this blog recently. My parents and brother came up from Florida for the week so I was spending a lot of time with them. My older sister donated her kidney to our uncle. He has Juvenile Diabetes and was on dialysis, so he really needed one, and she was a match. I spent a lot of time at the hospital with them. So that has been taking up a lot of my time. They are at home now and doing well!
Just wanted to give [anyone who actually reads my ramblings :)] an update!
And I can't wait to catch up on all the blog posts I've missed!

yes, you CAN!
So, I keep bringing up ideas to K about getting into some kind of extracurricular activity.
Our conversation goes like this...
Me: "K, would you like to play t-ball?"
K: "No."
Me: "How about soccer?"
K: "No."
Me: "Maybe you should try a dance class."
K: "No."
Me: "Gymnastics would be fun."
K: "No."
Me: "You like music. How about learning to play the piano?"
K: "No."
Me: "Well, if you could try anything, what would it be?"
K: "Nothing."
I seriously just want to enroll her in something.
But I'd prefer if she decided which one.
I know she is only 4 years old, so I'm not in a rush right now.
I just don't want her to be like me.
I want her to know that failing is OK.
My mother made me feel like you had to be perfect at everything.
Who can be perfect at everything?
So, when I didn't excel in something, I would quit.
I regret not trying a lot of things growing up.
I loved softball, but did I ever try out for my high school team?
No.
Did I keep running cross county, even though I was pretty good at it?
No.
Because I wasn't the best.
As an adult, I can look back and see the mistakes I made.
And I don't want K to end up the same way.
I'd love for her just to try.
That's all I ask for.
Friday's Fancies ♥ Star Spangled
Linking up with {av} from long distance loving
for another week of Friday's Fancies :)
I was so upset about missing it last week, while I was on vacation,
so I couldn't wait for Friday to get here.
This week is all about our wonderful Independence Day!
God Bless America!
I found this adorable dress on ebay for seriously $10! Can you believe it?
I added this red and white belt to add a little POP!
I found this adorable star necklace at AE and it paired perfectly with the star earrings from Overstock.com.
And could these shoes be any cuter?!
I am a HUGE fan of wedges, and these just complete this outfit.

K taking a pic of me on the back deck :) Went out for some pizza for dinner... |
My in-laws came down that night and we went out for ice cream,
and then saw the OC Light Show on the beach..
Tuesday: My in-laws last day at the beach with us. Those lucky devils went to Canada for a few days to see the Jazz Festival in Montreal, and also traveled out to Quebec. My mother-in-law has some really awesome pics. I may just have to post a few on here! Anyways, in the morning, we traveled up to Rehoboth Beach, to go to my favorite store; the Sea Shell Shop! It been a tradition to go there ever since I was a little girl. So I always make sure we go..
Funny little figurine I saw! |
We even made a new little friend on the beach..
Wednesday: We played lots and lots of mini golf. 36 holes of mini golf to be exact! I'm surprised K lasted the whole time. After playing the outdoor course, we went to to the inside one. I told her that if she didn't feel like playing a hole, it was no big deal. But she was a trooper and played every single one. I think I was more tired than she was! Which, honestly, really doesn't surprise me!
The outdoor course was a pirate theme. You even got to walk up onto the boat.
K in jail. Love her face! lol |
Mr. Franks got a hole-in-one! |
The indoor course was a safari theme. Very cute!

In the evening we went to the boardwalk. They were doing fireworks on the beach that night. We went up a little early to play some games and have K ride some rides. She won herself a cheetah stuffed animal and a princess basketball.
Thursday: Last year we rode on the OC Rocket, and had so much fun. We saw like at least a dozen dolphins. We decided to do it again this year. Unfortunately, we saw not one single dolphin, but it was still a fun boat ride.
Afterwards, we went and played some more games on the boardwalk.
And I won the jackpot on my favorite game.
It's my favorite because I won the jackpot on it before! :)
Friday: My sister-in-law, her boyfriend, and his son were coming down today.
We wanted to spend time with them, so we tried to hang around the house.
We took a trip to a local park, where Mr. Franks played some basketball, I walked the dog around the playground while K played.

We also went to a local store called Roses' to pick up a few things we needed for Saturday. And K picked out a really cool wagon to pull her toys around in.
We spent some time with the family before heading out for some dinner and ice cream to end our night!
Saturday: Our last day at the beach :( We went to Frontier Town with my sister-in-law, her boyfriend, and his son. It is a small waterpark. They have 2 waterslides, a lazy river, and a kiddie pool. It was a lot of fun, and got a good tan that day! Didn't get any pics though, as I didn't want to get my phone wet.
After the water park, we just went back to the beach house to finish packing and clean up; as my husband's uncle's family gets the house in July. We split it with them so we get every other month. Can't wait to go back in August!
